EXHIBITOR: SUSAN COMER
About: Susan Comer will be exhibiting her gorgeous selection of unique wearable art pieces at our A La Mode International Catwalk show in Feb 2010.
Designer Susan Comer creates one-of-a-kind wearable art 'tippets' (old English name for scarves or shawls) out of deconstructed vintage garments. She sculpts the tippets on a mannequin and then embellishes them with curios, vintage jewellery, pieces of leather and any other interesting things that inspire her. When I create a tippet, I look at it like a sculpture. The fabric or garment dictates what I do. Susan Comer
