Amato Couture by Furne One (Dubai)
Filipino born Furne One is the formidable creative force behind Amato Couture. From his atelier in the Al Hana Centre in Dubai, Furne has been actively plotting (fashion) world domination with collections that combine an insouciant eloquence of style that harks to a bygone era of opulence and decadence. His exquisite gowns are definitely not for shrinking violets! They (the gowns) are a melding of costume and old world charm; boudoir couture with a high diva quotient perfect for Oscar nights and occasions which call for full-on wow factor!
Dubai’s most well-known fashion maverick first showed signs of his creative potential as a 10 year-old living in Cebu, the Philippines. His hobby involved churning out endless sketches of elaborate, dreamlike, fantasical gowns for imaginary women. He went on to study Fine Arts in college, majoring in advertising. His first foray into the fashion limelight was in 1994 when he won the Mega Magazine Young Designers Award in the Philippines. The prize was a trip to Paris for a short-term training in design. The CEO and founder of the Natori company, Josie Natori, was one of the competition judges. She was so impressed by Furne’s fusion of high fashion and cinematic imagery that she invited him to apprentice with her.
Last year, PROJECT RUNWAY host and supermodel Heidi Klum came a-calling. Intrigued by his particular brand of surreal fashion, Heidi invited Furne to design gowns for all the 18 models for her show, "Germany's Next Top Model". He became an instant celebrity in Germany; with publicity in top German newspapers and fashion magazines. Heidi Klum has invited him again for this year's show.
To say that Amato Couture's star is ascending is surely an understatement undeserving of a designer whose signature is more diva than demure!

Tom Lipop Menswear (UK)
Upon completion of a challenging BA Hons degree in Fashion and Textiles (menswear), the Lipop London mastermind went onto successfully participate in Sky One's 'Project Catwalk. ' His participation in the show not only showed his resilience in such a demanding and tough environment but displayed his high-level of design competence and his ability and vigour to thrive in the competitive fashion industry. Partaking in "Project Catwalk" equipped Lipop with the skills to fulfil design and pattern cutting roles at Griffin Laundry, House of Holland, Halfpenny London and Nathan Jenden.
It is Lipop's infatuation with creating contemporary and forward thinking garments inspired heavily by the long historical lineage of British fashion which has been expressed through his own Avant Garde collections. One not to follow trends but to set them, Lipop has innovated a very distinct handwriting using striking illustration, technical cutting, experimenting with new fabrics, and garment construction. Parallel to his own creations, Lipop, who held a senior design position at House of Holland aspires to great designers such as Massimo Osti and Henrik Vibskov; two designers he claims who 'push the boundaries of fashion craft with successful, conceptual and aesthetically progressive garments. Z Mode (UK)
Lithuanian born Rangayah spent five years living in South Africa and studying fashion at LISOF Fashion School. She went onto establish Z-Mode after working as a denim designer for a manufacturing company. Rangayah has participated in several fashion design competitions including Bridex and Bridal Africa which served as the platform for her to publicise her skills and talent. This led to her being nominated for the prestigious South African 'Fashion Design Merchandise Award. ' Many of Rangayah's creations have received exposure in international magazines including Elle, Style Plus (Lithuania) and LABB Fashion (UK).
Her passion for foreign culture, art and music are a strong design inspiration and Z-Mode is a true depiction of that. Inspired by the 'rainbow nation' Rangayah witnessed whilst living in South Africa, her designs are a concoction of interestingly opposite textures; "I like to make women feel feminine, elegant but at the same time empowered. Therefore I always try to keep the balance between strong lines and flowing silhouettes and ruffles" The amalgamation of a feminine vibe expressed through masculine shapes is the essence of Rangayahs label.
